Operator Year 1: A Worked Walkthrough

3 minConcepts
// 1 of 1 · run a node

Operator Year 1, illustrative.

// 11.3 · one operator · 12 months · figures depend on total online weight

Caveat·Illustrative, not a forecast

Concrete numbers for one hypothetical operator across twelve months. All figures depend on the total online stake-weight, which grows as more nodes join and compresses each node's share of the same reward stream. Real numbers publish in the Telemetry surface of app.parallelix.io once the first production request settles.

What the table assumes

// explicit assumptions · use as a calibration tool

  • Bucket release. The 25% Operator Rewards bucket releases ~1,041,666 $PRLX per month (§8.4) as a fixed pool, streamed from Sablier (~34,200 $PRLX/day). The operator's share is purely its weight over the total online weight; nothing about it is a yield on the stake.

  • Constant operator weight. The operator's weight (100,000 × 2.5 × 0.995 ≈ 248,750) is constant; the per-share figure falls only because total online weight rises as the network grows.

  • Per-second stream accrual. earned(nodeId) grows every block at rewardRate × (operator_weight / total_online_weight) while online. Call claim(nodeId) anytime to pull the balance to wei precision. There is no per-task crediting and no daily settle.

  • No slashing. No slashing exists, so there is no principal-loss row: the 100,000 $PRLX stake is returned in full on unstake (7-day cooldown: requestUnstake then withdrawStake).

  • Operating cost. Rough at $1,800/month; varies by region and electricity rate.

Risks the operator should watch

// RISK// EFFECT// MITIGATION

Going offline

Uptime drops, weight falls, less of the pool

Monitor coord latency; alert at 2x p95

Failed / wrong results

Result rejected, no uptime credit

Verify hash output and checksum before returning

Hardware-tier mismatch

Uptime zeroed for the period

Declare the tier the machine actually has

Drop below 99% uptime

Lower uptime factor, lower reward weight

Redundant power, monitored network

Total online weight grows

Per-node share of the fixed pool falls

Stake more (more weight) or run more nodes
